SAP-PK recognizes the social and economic role women play in Pakistan and
other south Asian societies. It comprehends the necessity of their participation
along with men as “Agents of change” so that equitable, sustainable and
participatory development can be achieved. It understands the cultural,
economic, social and institutional barriers that restrict women’s participation
and is committed to reducing these barriers, promoting a change of attitudes
among men and women and gender equity in development process.
